Our Seniors Ministry exists to help meet the spiritual

and physical needs of our mature adults.

"Now it is God who has made us for this very purpose and has given us the Spirit as a deposit,

guaranteeing what is to come" 2 Corinthians 5:5.

Saints Alive

This monthly program brings together mature adults for a time of fellowship, bonding and spiritual encouragement. Activities are planned to speak to the interest of the group and to support those in the third division of life. Meeting places and dates vary. Some within our group volunteer at the Pregnancy Care Center, (a non-abortion clinic) by helping with mailings and their annual fund raiser, "Change For Babies," by helping prepare the bottles for distribution and counting the change when the bottles are returned.

The Saints Alive group gives on a quarterly basis to the following missions (in addition to our personal giving to the program of the church): The Bixlers in Indonesia, American Indian Christian Mission, Show Low, Az. (a Christian Boarding School for Navajo and Apache children), Church Development Fund, and to a student pursuing a missions or ministerial degree.

Seekers Class

Please join us on Sunday mornings at 9:00 am in Room 5 for a time of Bible study led by John McElwee. Our desire is to continue to know God and His purposes for our lives. We intend to prepare ourselves to "Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have" I Peter 3:15.

Home Bible Study

This small group study is designed to augment our weekly Seekers Bible Class. We meet in various homes on the first and third Wednesday's of the month from 8:30 - 10:00 am. Our time together starts off with a continental breakfast, followed by study in a specific book, closing with a time of prayer.

Menuchah (ministry to shut-ins)

This ministry addresses the needs of those in the church family who are unable to attend services on their own due to age or long-term health issues.

Georgia Tharpe, Menuchah Ministry Leader, spends one-and-a-half hours each month with each Menuchah family member sharing in Bible reading, prayer and communion. She also follows up with telephone calls. Upon request, shut-ins are provided with: communion (once-a-month), mailing of weekly bulletin and Sunday sermon on cd, large print Bible, daily devotional, and holiday gift baskets.
